HIKING AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

 Once again, Monique TRIUMPH, offers:

- Firstly, "SERIOUS WALKING” a hiking program aimed at experienced  hikers but not beyond the reach of many of us if we are fit.

- Secondly, “CULTURAL OUTINGS”.

For each of these activities, the program is detailed below, as usual, the departure takes place at the Morzine Tennis Club House near the Dranse and a car sharing scheme is established.

SERIOUS HIKING

Thursday, 21^st July: Mountain Grange 2432 m

By car to Lindarets, then we will go up the GR5 up to the Col de Bassachaux (1778 m) - The hamlet of Lenlevay, Coicon Ridge to the summit. Return via the same route. Starting at 7:30 am.

Thursday, 28^th July: Les Cornettes de Bise 2432 m

By car to La Chapelle d'Abondance, then left to the chalets de Chévenne (1217 m.). We follow the Chévenne stream as far as Col de Vernaz (1815 m). Here we take the left path up to the top of the ridge. Return via the same route. Starting at 7:00 am.

Thursday, 4^th August: Pointe de la Bosse 1946 m

By car to refuge de Bise (1502 m.) - We will leave the cars at lac de Fountain before the refuge and then assemble in Pas de la Bosse (1816 m.) and la Point. Then down to the chalets de Mens (1588 m) and ascent of the Col d’Ubin (1694 m) before descending to le refuge d’Ubin (1485 m.). Back to Lac de Fountain to complete the loop. Starting at 7:00 am

Thursday, 11^th August: Col du Colonney 2321 m

By Car to Flaine via Les Gets, Taninges, Col de Châtillon, Araches. Here we take the D106 to Flaine to join the GR96, and its alternative right to climb ...Return by les Grandes Platières, Col de Platé (2356 m), la Cabane de Balacha and Flaine. Starting at 7:00 am

Provide a hat and drink, as there is no shade!

Thursday, 18^th August: The chalets de Sales (1877 m) and le passage de Dérochoir (2246m)

By car to Lignon, then along the GR 5 to la cascade de la Pleureuse and the GR 96. Return via the same route. Starting at 7:00 am

Cultural outings

Wednesday, 27^th July: Splendours of the collection of the Prince of Liechtenstein at Palace Lumière, Evian

This exhibition shows, for the first time in France, the masterpieces from the Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna, which houses the largest private European collection today. The Baroque is largely represented through Italian painting and sculpture and Flemish painting.

 Starting at 9:30 am. Free afternoon at the convenience of everyone.

Wednesday, 10^th August: "Monet" Exhibition at Gianadda Foundation (Martigny, Switzerland)

Claude Monet needs no introduction, however, Leonard Gianadda will surely have some surprises in store for us that we will enjoy discovering.

Starting at 9:30 am.  Lunch will be on site.
